My 1st Chicken Coop & Run

pekin bantams (cochin bantam) are a good breed as they have good feathering and their legs are covered in feathers but they arent the best layers and they lay mini eggs

I fixed the air flow issue with my watering system. I altered the piping I was using to close the jug taking the cap off, and replacing it with an elbow. Then I cemented a piece of screen inside. I did this to help reduce the chances of dust, dirt and bugs from getting into the water! Now I have no flow pressure issues :)

Great!! So now I just have to figure out how and where I can get them. I have looked on a few sites and many of the chickens I want do it as First Runs.. I want Pullets only to start off with. I am not yet comfortable with having a rooster in the nest fertilizing my eggs and I mistakenly kill a baby chick! I remember my mother doing that when I was little... she cracked an egg into a pan and a ½ developed chick fell out... was pretty gross! Shocked I am not scared away from having my own chickens considering the trauma! LOL
I have 4 EE pullets for sale that should start laying soon. I picked them up in March and now I have decided to stick with just my silkies. I am in Greenvile, let me now if you're interested.

Awesome!! You did a fantastic job on it, congrats! If you prefer hens only right now, you can get one of each breed to "try"and decide from there what you like. You will love them all, its really exciting to find that 1st egg.

Easter Eggers are great chickens I got a few. Most are very friendly my 6 yr old son can handle them. But he raised them from chicks. They are great layers
