Healing and feeding a baby woodpigeon

Since the rescues and what not do not seem interested, it will be up to you to care for him on your own.

You might be able to let him loose once he is mature enough to fly and fend for himself, but jak is probably right that it will not fend for itself after being reliant on humans.
 
It is nice to hear that you are helping wildlife so much :) Far not many people are like this!

Majority of people just talk about tolerance, animals' rights etc. But never do anything to even slighty support their claims.

And in the story the zoo claim that no one was interested while in fact there were lots of people willing to ship lions and the baby giraffe to wildlife reserves for their own money. The zoo refused though. And sadly this isn't the only case of such animal abuse.

And our baby pigeon truly is really tame and sweet. Loves attention, loves to participate in different activities around the house and to watch TV. As I was typing this post it observed me then got down, got onto the laptop and started pecking the laptop

Your new baby pigeon sounds adorably sweet! I rescued a baby bird once. I thought it looked like a robin, but not really at the same time! I rescued him from our neighbors cat, but when I got him, he had a broken leg.....the leg never healed straight. (I tried to set it, but he wouldn't hold still because he was afraid of me) I fed him and kept him in a bird cage in our garage, but one sad night a cat got in the garage and killed him!

I have no idea how to cat got him out of the cage, but in the morning he was gone and the only thing left in our driveway was a leg.....the leg that had been broken!

I am still very sad when I think about him. I had had him for several weeks. He thought I was his mommy and would follow me around.
I hope I get another chance at rescuing a baby bird!
