How Old Is My Chicken

i have some rir chicks that are almost the same size as yours. They are almost 10 weeks old. hope this helps

this is my blue copper maran i just got on friday. but i have no idea how old he is.. i was told he was 8 months old . He shows NO interest in the hens . I know very little about chickens as i just stared my flock in april. The people i got some new chickens from was not truthful to me at all. she said i had standred size hens and i they were all bantams. I gave them away on monday. So now i am also wondering if the age of this rooster is the truth also. I am wondering if he will ever mature.. When we got the birds. they did not show us inside the barn but these birds smelled sooooooooooooooooooooo bad that we had to give them a bath on saturday because the smell was taking over my coop. I could smell the chickens just by walking near them. it was awful. I guess my point it .. if this rooster was living in a bad dirty barn with not proper food and water could this have slowed his maturity down or give him some thing i could be treating him with. We feel bad for the hens because they are squatting and really want him to take care of them like the rooster we butchered the day after we got this rooster. (other one was aggressive to us but a VERY good rooster). I am feeling bad like i made a big mistake because this rooster is not protective at all and shows no signs of being mature. other then he will crow about 5 times when i let him out of the coop and not again all day long...please give me your opinion on his age.. i have more photos if you need me to post them...

He's a Marans. Not stellar quality, more what I'd call hatchery quality if hatcheries did this breed.

I'd put him at more like 5ish months. He just doesn't have a mature look to him. He'll just need some time to grow up a little. I'm guessing your hens are mature? He's probably a little intimidated by them.

So he might just a little slow to mature and my mature hens intimate him. I sure hope he changes because he is a follower and shows no signs of protecting them either. He was so scared yesterday that he hid in the raspberry bushes. And all the girls came when i called them but he ran and hid
