I agree....an olive egger and either a maran or maybe a penacassa (sp). welsummers I have seen are a tad lighter but still a dark egg big_smile.png

but then again I'm no expert wink.png

My broody girl Autumn came off her eggs last night. They were very cold this morning. My suspicion is she couldn't get back to the eggs. She seems lively but she can't hardly stand, and when she does walk she limps alil, almost like the leg is aslee. I had her in a large kennel with food and water so she didn't move off the nest much. Did her muscles just weaken, or is something really wrong with her?

That seems to me to be quite do-able!  Can someone give me directions, or an address that works with a GPS?

Is there a website for this, with more information on how it works, or should I just jump in and see if I can sort it out?

We had a very productive morning!! celebrate.gif Our garden is now fully tilled, some of our cool weather crops are planted (praying that the 70 degree weather isn't going to kill them!! LOL) and our garden is roughly fenced in, until I can get the proper fencing from the farm store!! We started at 7AM and finished around 1:30...not too bad for a Saturday work day. I even managed to take some of the grass & weeds and such and shovel them into our compost heap...hoping to balance it out a bit.  I accidentally pulled an onion from out of the compost...didn't even know it was growing.  hu.gif  Now if I could only find some good potatoes and sweet potatoes to try to grow I'd be ALL set!!  If it wasn't suppose to get cold & rainy tomorrow.... we were going to clean out the coop and put fresh "litter" down but we will still wait until it stays warmer like some of you suggested!!  big_smile.png

So loving the ability to plant most of the crops in Feb & March and not have to wait until April - May (like we did in Ohio)!! LOL. Now if we could only get an EMU instead of a dog to take care of the deer problem...LOL...Hmm...what other kind of beast could we get aside from a dog to chase deer away??  We were laughing last night as the deer and chickens played "tag" over a certain area of grass!!  Well, off to work on getting DD to actually say "sun glasses" (mainly so DoubleA can't corrupt her further) and work on refitting those saddles!!

Oh, and for the record...my Cochins are very easy girls...not only are they talkative, but the boys just have to come near them, and they lay flat on the ground....no wonder my splash never stays clean!!  lau.gif

If you all keep talking about WCA...I might have to figure out a way to coerse DH into either taking me or letting me go one of these weekends.  Hmm...I wonder if I say there will be an EMT who is all for being a labor coach (right DoubleA??  LOL) would sway him enough?!?  lau.gif lau.gif

NH, YAY for the productive day. Technically you can use old store potatoes for your seed potatoes and most of your local hardware stores have seed potatoes in now. They actually need to be planted first of March if we are going to get 5-6 warmish days. Now why are you going to be a fun-sucker and take away my job as a hysterical corrupter?? Ok we talked about the birthing babies thing....JUST because I have a sterile OB kit in my truck doesn't mean I want to birth a youngin....EVER. I'll be there to watch you and make sure you stay good and intervene if you need it.....but if you go into labor we are calling the AMBULANCE. lol

Thanks for the address(es) and times.  I won't be looking to sell anything, but I think I'll show up with an open mind about buying if I see something I like.  Now I have something to look forward to tomorrow!
