welcome-byc.gif to all the new people!!  We are glad to have you.  I have NO IDEA where most of you are at, all I can say is I am far east of the mountains and semi-far from the ocean (and a newer transplant to the wonderful state of NC, so I don't know my geography yet...)!!  LOL.

We had flooding rains yesterday - hope those of you who went to the WCA didn't end up too wet!!  I was glad to read that some of you came home with just a little and most of you who were selling things made a profit!!  Now if we could only get the WCA to have dairy sheep, I would be in business!!  LOL

I can say I am VERY happy to report that ONE of my saddles stayed on - I turned it upside down so the snaps were inaccessible and it seemed to work.  Somehow I am still having "issues" with the big buff's saddle.  I may remake it and try making it smaller - perhaps it's just too large for her, even though I did cut it down some, and resized the elastic...it stayed on her throughout the night and half of the day, but in the end it was off?!?  DH came in last night from checking on them and said, "well Jemimah got her saddle off, and she has very few feathers on her back now...did you know that?  It looks like there's a landing strip right down her back!"  A LANDING STRIP - REALLY??  He is far too technical in his descriptions.  Here I have been worried that her back is all busted up and exposed or something.  I will check on her in a little bit - I think they are all still sleeping!!  Another funny thing...DH tells me we have a broody....our rooster (Timmy) was in the nesting box sitting on some eggs...guess he really wants to be a daddy (should I call him a mommy then)?!?  LOL lau.gif Anyone want some eggs a rooster has been sitting on?? Would they even develop??

Official countdown: 3 weeks until full term and 6 weeks until EASTER!!  th.gifI am so tired of waiting already...why can't it be 20-something days like a chicken?!?  LOL

I'm a SAHM happily married to the man of my dreams with two DD (another due 7/2013), 1 cat, 3 Marans, 1 BSL rooster (NoName), 1 Misc. Rooster (Tyrone); 5 Ducks (Cadbury and his girls), 2 misc. young chicks, 12 pullets, etc.

Mary, I saw you yesterday and I couldn't place a name with the face to say anything. I do mix people up sometimes and I look silly for it! But HI!!!

You are welcome Beth, now you didn't go home completely empty handed. :)

Getting the girls ready to move to their new coop... hubby wants to do it. He's getting them some treats together before he brings them out.

Curious though, with their beak clips they won't be able to enjoy some of the treats and special stuff my others girls' can? I don't think they'll be able to get the winter scratch treats we offer the others. What about fruits/veggies, what should I stay away from with them? I feel so badly for them and I just want to spoil the poor girls now. :(

Brrrrrrr....... a little chilly this morning to plant the pretties we got from Vfem,

thanks so much hugs.gif

guess I'm going to need to find a stuffed toy for the one chick that

hatched as it seems the rest of the eggs didn't tongue.gif

seems I just may be broodie challenged too gig.gif

should it be a bit of a fluffy toy or one that is more of a short napped fabric?
