seem like a good breed, if i had the room i would probably raise a batch of them they seem like they would be a good 4h starter show bird...considering i dont see many of this breed in my class...

What I was wondering is if anybody here uses sand in there coops and why they like it more than pine shavings? I'm curious because shavings are becoming expensive.
I use pine needles..... I have a hundred (slight exaggeration) Pine trees and tons (not an exaggeration) of pine needles. So I use free pine needles from the yard.
