The way I read the egg law, you can sell up to 30 dozen eggs per week without doing anything other than cleaning them and labeling them. (and refrigerating) Basically, write "ungraded" big, and your farm name, addy and phone number smaller.

I don't use chemical washes on my eggs.  Most are clean anyway, but I give 'em a good rinse.  Dirty eggs are the ones I wash and cook for The Boys in the morning.  (my doggies)

Meg and Chris, plus mastiffs Murphy, Jake and Reilly, and Great Dane Levi. Orpingtons, Welsummers, Ameraucanas, Barnevelders, Rosecomb Brown Leghorns, Cuckoo Marans, and a few turkeys, along with NZW rabbits, summer lambs or calves, and who knows what else.
My record of swaps

Thank you for that information. I am just offering them to friends and family for now. I posted about them on my FB today so I will see how much interest we get from that. If I don't get much interest from that I will probably post on CL. Most of our eggs are clean when we get them but I have a couple that are a little dirty. I guess the ones that the dirt won't wash off I can always use for my family.

Wow, it's great to see so many other members from NC!!! I'm from Lexington myself, technically right on the Davidson/Forsyth County line. So I am closer to Winston Salem then I am Lexington. :)

welcome-byc.gif Nice to meet someone close by. I am right by the Rowan county line myself. I'm in Davidson county though. Not far from Lexington and Salisbury, actually about the same distance to both!

More than sometimes!  There have been times when my chickens and birds had to be my solace so I could go back out and deal with the humans--and they'd send me out with a smile!  There is chicken math, but there is also chicken magic!

I love all this info for selling eggs.  So far we haven't sold any eggs--just given them to friends who watch our animals--but I suppose we may one day get there and it's really nice to know what's involved. big_smile.png

Can anyone tell me what kind these 2 girls are?  They were a gift and are great layers.
