Thanks rf, It's better today. and congrats on the broodies, so far mine have just been taking turns which after having 3 go broody at once and fighting over whos chicks belonged to who I am grateful for a slow take off this year. A couple times last summer trying to get out of the coop with the right chicks was horrible. till they get to know their mommies.

Just wanted to pop on and let everyone know if they don't hear from me for a few days that's because I was told today at our appointment that everything is in place and we're just waiting on the baby to decide to make his/her entrance.  DH is hoping for Sunday, so we'll see!!  Try not to be TOO talkative while I am gone...it will be hard to catch up!!  Hehe.

Already mopped (hands & knees), cleaned & santized the kitchen, dining room & living room.  At least these 3 rooms are ready for when the influx of company arrives.  While DH is outside weeding I am heading upstairs to clean & stock the guest suite and hope/pray that all this cleaning induces labor...or at least helps me to sleep well tonight!!  lau.gif

Congrats on the broodies RF & ML!!  Hope you have an amazingly successful 100% hatch!!

Our broody is still hanging in there and "Stupid" (as DH affectionately calls our Lav Roo) has been keeping a close watch on her.  He rarely leaves the coop and when he does he isn't too far from her. ep.gif I wonder if she'll tell him they aren't all his?!?  lau.gif

I'm a SAHM happily married to the man of my dreams with two DD (another due 7/2013), 1 cat, 3 Marans, 1 Misc. Rooster (Tyrone); 4 Ducks (Cadbury and his girls), 8 assorted pullets, 5 babies and MORE chicken math to come.

Does anyone know where I can find a cheap incubator? I am fine with something small that will only hatch a few eggs at a time. I want an automatic turner in it though. I've been looking on CL and nothing is available close by for me. From what I have heard the forced air incubator are better than still air so I would like to find a forced air incubator. DH was thinking about building one but not sure how to go about it yet. It may turn out cheaper to buy a used or new incubator.

Looks like I've got a couple broodies starting up.  One of the buffs and one black.  If they'll stay on it, I'll give them each some adoptees when the incubator hatchs.  That'll lessen what I'll have to brood.  They can't have my BCMs or the poults, but the rest they can.

I'm not used to selling off young birds, but I decided that if I'm getting rid of the Buffs, then I should start with those little ones.  I've got 11 three-week-old pullets from McMurray out there that I was looking at for layers, but I won't want them after all.  What do they go for at that age?  Any ideas?  I'm either going to CL them or take them to the next swap, once I come up with a price.  The sooner, the better.
