Caster oil is only gonna work if it is time anyway... well and make you poo so much you might take up residence on the potty all day. Get an exercise ball, they relieve back pressure, bounce on it a bit, roll your hips front to back and side to side. Helped me out a lot.

NH, those exercise balls rock! I used one while I was in labor with the DD. Relieved a LOT of pressure and made it bearable!

Ok, so I just got back from tractor supply and I broke and bought 6 meat birds. They're under a heat lamp already with food and water. Tonight, they are going to get slid under one of the broody silkies who's been ready for babies for WEEKS now. She's impatient and I think this should satisfy her and save me the clean up and work with the birds before they are ready.

These are my first birds intended for meat, I've taken care of unwanted roos before for food, but these are my first cornish x breed. SO I'm hoping this goes well. I'm only starting with 6 to see how this goes since I wanted to use the broody silkie as the care taker. I am assuming these are taken care of at 8 weeks old? Or is it earlier? I think I remember reading it was different for if I wanted them to be roasters or not?

I'll probably post in the meat bird section about this, and I'm planning on recording how well this goes... or not! hahaha

flyers are 6-10 weeks, broilers 8-12.  All depends on their diet and amount of activety.

These guys are going to be outside with access to grass with their 'mom'. So I'm guessing they may need the extra weeks? I guess I'm just going to have to watch and see.

With that in mind, how much should the bird way living to yield about 5 lbs as a carcass?

How many birds do you have to be selling to require a license?

by NC law your supposed to have a "Green Card" (free) to sale any birds, but you don't need it on your own property - more if you are going into a public place such as chickenstock, shows, trades/swaps etc your supposed to have the Ratite/Seller License
