Ok, so I'm planning on getting a gift for my husband for Father's day. At first I was thinking something he's always wanted... now I'm thinking something that he needs is more practical. Not really practical so much as "giving him a break". He works 60 hour weeks and then comes home and helps me around here when he can. Between the animals, the house, the gardens and the kid... his 1 day off turns into ANOTHER job. I'm sure he could use more downtime with us then time doing chores.
Honestly, my hands are TOO full to take on anymore to help him, I take on more then I can handle! So I was thinking, since we broke the riding mower last year and I surely can't afford $1200+ for a new one right now . We've been borrowing my neighbor's and mowing her's each week as a thank you; which takes 4-6 hours every other sunday including weed eating. What IF I got us some bi-weekly lawn mowing service for the summer? It's not a lump sum up front, so I may be able to get some extra hours at work to cover it for a little while anyway. What would that normally cost for just under an acre? I really can't afford $100 each time, that would put it out of the question, but I was thinking he would SO appreciate the time back more then anything else I could get him.
Otherwise, I'll probably get him a new grill since ours is 8 years old and needs complete replacement of EVERYTHING on it. :P
Opinions or other ideas welcome.... I have to start saving now for whatever I end up getting him.
Last year he got nothing for father's day, birthday or Christmas... we were just in too deep of a jam since 2008. I really feel the need to do something for him. :)
