NH- I remember potty training. I do not miss it at all. We did the naked for a week and it worked with 3 out of 4. My oldest DS was stubborn. My DD was about 20 months old when she potty trained herself, learned to take off her diaper. At the time I also had my DSx3 and he was 8 months old. She would try and take his off too, which did not work for me. He thought it was a grand game. Good luck and remember this to shall pass. Than onto another milestone.

All of our chickens are fine. The guineas are fine. We are working with them so they are less skittish. The little buggers are fast.

Yesterday was my 36th birthday. DH is out of town for work, so the kids made me a brownie and cleaned the kitchen for me. So sweet.

Having 2 teenage sons is expensive. They eat everything and anything. I ended up planting my garden a few weeks late (it looks great just no harvest yet).

DH is coming home tomorrow, can not wait. I do not sleep well when he is not here.

Good morning Everyone!  What a lovely sunny, cool morning!  Wish they could all be like this!

Hubby had me count chickens yesterday.smack.gifWhen he asked, I gave him an estimate, but he said he wanted specific numbers.  People ask him al the time.  So, counting chicks and bantams, we are now up to only 101 chickens. (I feel like making dalmation jokes, but can't think of any.) However, the extra cockerels will soon be gone one way or another, so that will reduce the numbers.  On the other hand, the incubators are loaded......lol.png

So far, one of the new birds has told us his name.  The new black English Orpington cockerel is Black Magic.  He's in with the rest of the younglings, but as soon as Sasquatch is moved out, he'll move in with the adults,  Judging by his behavior with the other younglings, he will not only hold his own with the currently subordinent blue roo, Handy, he'll take top spot before he's grown.  He's not aggressive, but he tells those other birds straight up when he doesn't want them close to him.  He had one whole side of the perches all to himself last night, and the others crowded in to the other side or took the rafters.  There is plenty of room there, but they gave him three quarters of it!   I'll be deciding which of the new birds that's old enough goes to which pen today and tomorrow and get them all sorted out.  Some will stay in Juvenile Detention for a while.

Have an awesome day everyone!

Meg and Chris, plus mastiffs Murphy, Jake and Reilly, and Great Dane Levi. Orpingtons, Welsummers, Ameraucanas, Barnevelders, Rosecomb Brown Leghorns, Cuckoo Marans, and a few turkeys, along with NZW rabbits, summer lambs or calves, and who knows what else.

NH ~ sounds like you have a great attitude so it will go great.  That's awesome that she wanted to be a big girl, that helps a lot!

Happy Birthday Sharon, you must have great kids to make you brownies!

HELP!! Lice or mites or something is in my coop!

Yesterday I was peeking in on my broodies who did hatch eggs after all. I picked up an unhatched egg and saw several tiny reddish bugs crawling over it. What is going to be my best bet for treating the chickens and coop? I have adults and now babies too. I researched dusting a little...What's recommended that Tractor Supply may carry?

Thanks so much!

So whether I use DE or Sevin, I dust the actual birds, right? Would it be ok for chicks, too?

You can dust the coop with sevin not sure about the birds. But you can dust everyone and everything with DE!
