It is raining GREAT here. I'm so loving this! The temps are down, the ducks are thrilled and even the chickens are out and about in it because they are finally not burning up.

I even went out and weeded the garden at 8am this morning and got some pumpkin seed, more cukes and a few more zukes seeds in. Hopefully they will sprout well with all this moisture this week and I'll get a second round out of them before the fall.

Now, if only more tomatoes would ripen already!!! UGH!

Our rain was short, but it did lower the temps for a bit.  I turned off the A/C and opened the windows to air the house a bit before it started heating back up.  My chickens also enjoyed it once the worst was over.

Since hubby left this morning on a trip, I decided to veg today.  I've watched a couple movies and almost finished up the cardigan I'm knitting.  By the time I finish the Black Pearl, it might be done!  Woohoo!

Meg and Chris, plus mastiffs Murphy, Jake and Reilly, and Great Dane Levi. Orpingtons, Welsummers, Ameraucanas, Barnevelders, Rosecomb Brown Leghorns, Cuckoo Marans, and a few turkeys, along with NZW rabbits, summer lambs or calves, and who knows what else.

Tonight the City of Goldsboro considers a new ordnance to allow up to ten hens per household within the city limits with an approved license. No roosters would be allowed! This ordnance is an effort to allow more “urban farming” in Goldsbor...o like more than 120 other cities across NC alone including Raleigh, Charlotte and Fayetteville. I think this is a huge positive step for the city. I can’t wait, cause I just built a nice little coop for a few little girls to come home to roost….and make me breakfast every morning! Yeaha, that’s how this SUPER CHICKEN EGG BOY rolls!See More
