Hello we are new to the BYC forum and we recently started our adventure with six chicks that are now 5 months old we purchased six and were told they were all hens however we have 2 silkie roos that need to be re homed of course at not cost I will pay 5.00 for the interested party once they are picked up. We live in Portsmouth Va and private message me for the address and phone number. Please understand we love them but Portsmouth does not allow for Roosters so we must get rid of them help out please.

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Sorry you wound up with roos, you might try posting in your state thread for the best chance of finding local homes https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/270925/find-your-states-thread Mountain Peeps gave you the link to the BST forum. Also try places like your local Craigslist and feed store (some of them will take birds) and local 4-H clubs if someone wants a project bird.

thanks for the welcomes and thanks so much for the websites we just clipped the hens flight feathers so they can roam a bit

Sorry you have to rehome some birds. I hope you can find them some good homes.

Welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. You've received some good links from Mountain Peeps and TwoCrows. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in re-homing your Silkie roosters.

I would not put your generous offer on Craig's list - you'll just attract people who will get not only get a free snack(out ofsilkies) but also make a profit for taking them.

In Asian communities silkies with their black skin and black bones are highly desirable and they would pay for them but probably put them on the table fast.
