This chick is going on 8 weeks old and it is obviously a black shoulder, but is it IB BS or Bronze BS, considering the birds in the pen it's egg came from it could be either. I think it's a hen as there is very little dark coloring on it, but I have no experience with Bronze so I would welcome any input from those who do. Heck, I would even welcome wild guesses. @q8peafowl remember when I said I might ask you for your opinion on Bronze BS, this is it!

It is very uniform in coloring, not much contrast.

PS, the feather on the wing that looks white is more like a cream color, this pic makes it look whiter than it is.

Is the parents india blue black shoulders split bronze?

Male is a Bronze Black Shoulder, hen's are 2 bronze, 1 bronze WE split Pied, and 1 Black Shoulder split to Bronze, I assume since it's BS pattern the mom had to be the BS split Bronze, unless one of the others is carrying a BS gene we don't know about.

Have a look at this black shoulder chick, it looks a lot like yours, but i'm still hoping for a bronze for you

That does look a lot like my chick. If it isn't a Bronze BS that is fine, I have an adult Bronze BS hen, a bronze split BS male chick, a Bronze split BS female chick, a Bronze split pied & BS female chick and a Spalding split Bronze male chick, and this would be a female IB BS split Bronze, so I will have a nice group for my Bronze pen.

Does anyone have any Bronze BS chick pictures to compare it to? I put my IBBS peacock with an IB hen white eye and hatched out a BS chick. My hen has to be carrying the BS gene for this to happen. Do you know if any of your others are split to BS? Wish I had a bronze bs chick picture to compare it with, but again eventually you will find out

As I have learned when it comes to hidden splits Anything is possible! However, if one of the Bronze barred wing hens is carrying BS, the chick would have to be Bronze since the Male is Bronze, correct? If it is an IB BS chick the mother would have to be the IB BS split Bronze hen, right?

I just want to tell you the one hen is bronze WE split to pied not bronze pied split to WE, I kept one of the BS chicks from the pen mine is only 5 weeks old but it seems lot darker than yours will try to post picture when I move it out of brooder might be just lights in brooding area that make me think it is a lot darker.
