Thought I would do a short intro from my phone:)
I'm an industrial instrument guy. I haven't owned a flock but have read up and plan to put one together. I'll be automating some of it but prob won't over do it much:) it'll make a nice project for the winter months. I plan to free range as much as poss.
I'm wondering if I use a moisture sensor on the vent fan whether that would prove to be useful. I will probably just go with a variable speed fan and of course mix it with passive ventilation.
Anyway...peeps here seem pretty resourceful but if I can help with anything let me know.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

I also have no clue on what to say as far as the fan goes.

But glad you joined us!

Haha yeah might try it again later. I just like experimenting. The only problem with it is the ambient moisture might be a factor. Also its only half the picture and unless u put a gas detector in....probably best to base it on cfm as long as it doesn't create a draft below I guess
...

You're way over my head. I just watch the girls and can usually tell when they need more air. I have a large (4x8) window on both sides of the hen house covered with 1/2" hardware cloth. I then have shutters I'm able to open and close as needed (more seasonal than anything else).

Welcome to the forum and to BYC.
