I used to bring one of them in the house occasionally when they were still pretty small and my cat would try to swat at it. I brought one in today and the cat backed away, lol. They are much bigger now. On Sept. 7th they will be 2 months old. The one I brought in today is the biggest boy and his head and neck are almost all flesh now and very little fuzz left. I have noticed that sometimes his head and neck become very bright red, I think his name shall be Red Fox, lol.

Mine were hatched the same say as your's I believe. July 4th? These are what my Palms look like right now. They love strolling outside with our three barn cats. Kind of funny to see all 4 of the baby turkeys, all 8 of the Cornish X, then two kittens all snuggled under the wings of their "adoptive mother" (my Broad Breasted White).

I just took this today. WHen mine were small my cat would also swat at them, When I brought one in today the cat totally backed away, lol. Anyway, This photo is of my girl which I named 'Freedom" because of hatching on the 4th of July. The other 6 hatched on the 7th. I ended up with 6 males and onlt the 1 female. I love them all, they are my babies.

The whole gang

This may be a silly question, but how do you know the genders already? Mine occasionally strutt and puff up, but very rarily. They also still have the feathering on their heads and their snoods are all the same length as the one in the picture.

Mine strutt constantly. I spend a lot of time outdoors with them and so I watch them closely. Six of them strutt and one does not and never has. And she is very petite and the others are much bigger. Mine will soon be 2 months old and barely have any feathers left on their head or necks. When they are displaying their head and necks turn very bright red also. They are much bigger than in the photo, it was taken on August 7th. They have grown very much since the photo. Have a great day!

I lived in Lima for a year back in the 80's

That is awesome that you actually know where Lima is! No one ever knows where it is. We live in the country between Lafayette and Lima, near Beaverdam. I was told that the song, "I Shot the Sheriff", was actually about something that happened long ago in Lima.
I spend a lot of time with my turkeys, two have slightly less feathers on their head, but only one displays. I was always told that you would know when the turkeys are around eight months old, you would know if they are hens or toms. That never seemed right to me and that most people know if they have boys or girls before then. I will keep an eye out for the second one to display.

Just took these photos this morning. Actually I lived in Beaverdam, but I just said Lima because I thought more people would know Lima.. I did work in Lima though.

I believe I have two males and two females. This is really hard to choose between males for my Royal Palms.

They recently closed the Waffle House in Beaverdam, but opened a Dollar General. So everyone kept going on about how they miss the Waffle House, but since the Dollar General has opened, everyone is very happy about that.

That is awesome! Yes. My last name is Green. There are a lot of Greens everywhere. I'll have to see if we have any relatives in Indiana. I know that my grandmother's side comes from Burkheimer's and Luchini's from Italy and we still have a lot of relatives in Italy, but I am always at a loss when it comes to my grandfather's side (Green's) and my mother's side (Sneary).
