My American Buffs turned 18 weeks and are starting to be all grown up. I got them from Metzers and they are supposed to be 2 males and 2 females. I am a little bit confused about the lobe / belly fat and if that is a indicator of gender. First year with geese so I still have to learn ;-)

Here are some pictures….

I think that this is definitely a male. The biggest of all and he just looks like a boy to me …… When it's time to go in the coop he is always last and makes sure everybody is in ;-)

I have two slightly smaller ones that are having two big lobes. I just call it "fluffy pants" ;-) Looks like female to me…..

NOW HERE IS THE ONE I QUESTION….

As big as the first one but has one lobe???

So……. is a lobe a indicator of gender and if so what's up with the goose with the one lobe????

And just for fun a group shot

Hi German chick. I don´t have Buffs, so off-hand, I can´t say if the ganders of this breed have lobes or not. Some breeds do.
I´d say the first pic is a male, the second pic female, the third pic male. I´m going by their carriage. Just watch the behaviour of the one in question..he may just be a gander of quieter nature. Watch how he moves in comparison to the others that you´re sure about.
