You have to get this perfectly level for the water to work and then sometime it still leaks. You have to monkey around with for it to work. The handle is welded cheaply and busted off...

Leghorns are great egg laying chickens. They are friendly to other Leghorns and can easily fly. The only problems is that they are bad in the pecking order and they can make a mess of the yard....

seem like a good breed, if i had the room i would probably raise a batch of them they seem like they would be a good 4h starter show bird...considering i dont see many of this breed in my class...

Saffron is 8 weeks now, still not clear whether a pullet or roo - no crowing, but does chest bump and peck. Then again, my hens all did that when they were that age too! So, I don't know. What do you think??

I think with a comb that size at 8 weeks, it must be a male. It's darling!

Wife of the best guy ever, mom of 5 sons and 1 daughter, living in heaven on earth. We're owned by more chickens than I care to admit, a pit bull, a Jack Russell terrorist, a chia-poo, a bazillion cats and a huge guinea pig.

saffron is is a cross from my bantam salmon favorolles hen and either my blue frizzled bantam cochin roo or my giant blue cochin roo if that helps anyone to better guess.

at first i thought pullet going by the tail and the comb not real red but after looking at the pics again and u saying it is butting chests, i'm thinking saffron is a male also not a girl.

can u show a pic of hackle and saddle feathers?
