PLEASE help!! 9 weeks old chick not walking

Thanks Fancychooklady,
I have grown very fond of this little bugger and it sucks to see her struggle again. The decline was very prompt. She went from fine to barely walking in less than 2 days.
I hope it won't take months to make her walk again, or worse.
Any ideas of what this might be?

I can see why you have grown fond of her. My only guess would be that she may have suffered neurological damage as a result of a vitamin deficiency .

After a week of vitamins and TLC she is standing again a little. She was completely down a few days ago, curled toes and all.
Her feet are still wobbly and she can't stand for very long but looks definitely improved.
What a mystery she is...

Glad she is improving! Hopefully she will bounce back much faster this time. My pullet who had similar symptoms as yours has twice had a small "relapse", each time not as bad as before. I think with her, it is because she is the lowest on the pecking order and they chase her off food and water. I have to take her treats and make sure she is getting enough to eat and drink. Maybe your little one has some sort of metabolizing issues, and that is why she needs the extra support? Hope she keeps getting stronger, I know how much effort, time and love you have put into her.

I would agree, my little hen is also the underling of the flock. Unfortunately she spends far too much time broody and that it is naturally when she relapses. I'm glad to hear that you are seeing improvement .

Fancychooklady, can you help me. You seem to have loads of knowledge. I am in Scotland and have a 5 wk old sebright chick which has suddenly gone lame. She is holding her left leg up and drags it on the floor, I was reading the above posts and think it could be the same as these other posters. I went to the vet yesterday, and she said that it was probably neurological and try and do physio on her everyday. She does sometimes have the leg forward and toes splayed but most of the time she hops about on her good leg (thank goodness she is a small breed) and drags it along. Any help or advice you can give would be appreciated. The other 3 siblings are fine. thanks in anticipation.
