Man...do they grow fast! They've pretty much feathered out now and we got some great coloring...Mom's the Embden on the bottom left. They are too funny!

Are lavenders always male? I did a chek when they were little and didn't have a way to mark them...I think I have 4 males & 5 females...but not sure. They're still squeaking, no honks. They're all pretty much the same size still...no distinguishing characteristics yet.
The pied is a female too and yes lavender are usually males or all the time when crossed with pure breeds the brown ones are usually females but not all the time when the whites can be either sex

Oh, good to know...thanks! Yep..both parents were purebred for their breed. Can anyone suggest a good way to mark babies when they're little? I've seen leg bands for chickens. I didn't know if they'd work well for geese or ducks
There are many ways but the best way is Cable ties that have many colors
They are great to use just keep a close watch on them because they grow so fast they can get tight quick. Very pretty geese.
yep they grow so fast that the tierip is too small so you have to place a larger one
