They were bought as chicks from a private breeder. Was told they were EEs, but obviously are not. I'm asking for a friend because I am stumped. I'm guessing they are a cross.

Could be, but I definitely see the Wyandotte in there.

They do look more like Partridge Wyandotte mixes.

If there was such a thing as a Rose-combed New Hampshire, then I would say that is what they are. However, (at least that I know of), there is no breed/variety like that. So I agree that they are probably Partridge Wyandotte/Rhode Island Red mixes.

Thank you all! I have passed the info along. It is super common around here for sellers to sell mixes and are either uneducated or flat out lie about them and call them purebreds. I am a member fo several local facebook groups and try to help identify breeds when questions come up. Sadly, I have seen MANY dissappointed buyers only because they aren't getting what they thought they were. But pretty hennies will still lay eggs, even if they are mutts!
