Has anyone noticed a huge/annoying influx of Mosquitos as of late. We believe given some comments from others and seeing a city truck spray for Mosquitos that it is completely unrelated to the coop - however, bc of the location of the coop near the woods in our back yard the problem back there makes it hard to clean the coop and likely uncomfortable for the chickens.
A) has anyone else noticed this problem and
B) what have you done to remedy it - can/should we fog back there? We are fearful for the health of the chickens - maybe we should just ride it out?

Appreciate any help.

As with any mosquito problem it starts with standing water. Make sure it is eliminated as much as possible. I would fog the area if you can as those mosquitos can carry diseases to your birds such as dry pox.

Mosquitoes are bad this year. I'm in Florida. Several of my chickens ended up with dry Pox. One with an eye infection-maybe from flies.
I hate bugs!
