I recently acquired a small green parrot (about 7 inches from head to tip of tail) with a gray head, lighter gray cheeks and a descent size hook bill beak. His overall body color, including flight feathers and tail, is a medium-dark hunter green but his underside from his neck, his entire belly, down to his vent is a fairly bright lime-ish hue of green.
He (or she) seems to be very human oriented as he will fly from the top of his cage, clear across the room and land on your shoulder if you should dare to leave the area without him. He also talks, a lot. And you can even understand what he's saying, which is a nice change from the other parrots I've had! He appears to be in perfect health except for a small patch of redness that runs from the tip of his back toe, up the side of his foot to the tip of his first toe. I've checked for him for mites, limping, chewing, scratching, etc. and found nothing out of the ordinary.
I was kind of thinking he might be a Meyer's or a Senegal, or perhaps a cross between the two???
I've posted some pictures below and am hoping someone out there can put a name to this guy's beautiful face and if you can tell if it's a boy or girl, all the better.
All responses appreciated!!!
Thanks!

THAT'S IT. JUST ONE GUESS. BOY, AT THIS RATE, HE'LL NEVER GET HIMSELF FIGURED OUT IN TIME FOR THE CHRISTMAS BIRD SHOW.
WELL, LET'S KEEP THOSE GUESSES COMING, OK...
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE !!!

Thank you both for your replies! I went ahead and looked up 'brown headed parrot' and I must say that I believe you both are absolutely correct !!! Thank you so much for helping me out. Now that I know what he is, I'd like to find out if he's a he or if he's a she, but all the sites I've been on keep saying that, barring a feather DNA test, there's really no way to differentiate between the sexes with this breed. So I guess I'll just come up with a name that I like, regardless of gender. Any suggestions? Thanks again you two !!!
