I have a 3 year old girl that just suddenly stopped eating. It's been two days and she hasn't wanted to come out of her cage or eat. Occasionally I can bribe her to come out with a treat, but most of the time she sits in a corner with her mouth open like she's panting. I would take her to the vet, but the closest one that will see her is 3 hours away. So I figured I'll try this first. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!!!!

Has she been laying? she could be egg bound, she could have eaten something toxic. she could have an infection. I'd take her and examine her real good feel very gently all down her tummy all the way to her vent, look at her vent does it look normal can you float her in a tub of nice warm water/ she how she acts when you do this. don't leave her unsupervised. when your feeling her tummy you feeling for an egg that maybe stuck. If you put her in warm water she may relax more and you can feel her tummy again might be able to feel for and egg easier.

She has been laying eggs, (one a day) except for today. As far as eating something toxic, she stays indoors and we don't use any harsh chemicals and the house is kept clean. She took a dip in the tub yesterday and she floated fine, she just didn't want to move although she was shivering.

Can you get her to a vet? shivering doesn't sound good, maybe she has an infection and may need a course of antibiotics. I'd still feel along her tummy gently and check out her vent just to make sure it's not an egg stuck. He vent would be pulsating.
