Hey there! Just a newbie to the chicken world. We only have a few chickens in a city setting. We acquired two new editions that we are waiting to add when they are larger. We are wondering the sex of these two. Hoping we won't have any more crowing!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

I don't keep Silkies but from what I understand, it is difficult to sex Silkies until they are about 6 months old. OR when one crows or lays an egg. You might post this pic in our What Breed and Gender section for more help...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this

Very cute birds!! Enjoy these cutie pies and welcome to our flock!

Glad you joined us!

Both of your birds look like pullets to me, though Silkies/frizzle can be very hard to sex.

Welcome to BYC. How old are they? You may want to post photos at "Silkie thread," just put that in the search box and it should come up.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. You have some adorable birds. X3 on young Silkies being notoriously difficult to sex. Definitely post their pics in our What Breed and Gender is This? section and let our experts there have a look at them. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your birds sexed.

We're glad to have you.

I'm leaning towards pullet on both of them, especially on the Silkie. Good luck with them!
