I think I forgot to post anything about the bread slicer I bought.

Done by hand before I got the slicer. Generally it was better than this but not always

The slicer. You might notice it has 3 widths to choose from. It means you need to take some out and move the loaf but that isn't a big deal and makes it more flexible.

From the slicer, one of my better "by hand" ones and the end

The knife that came with it is thinner than my long bread knife and cuts well though I wish it were a couple of inches longer. Many fairly short strokes needed to get down through the loaf without having the knife come out of the slicing guide on the far side. I still use that knife, at least with the King Arthur Basic Sourdough loaf because my wider knife tends to rip the bread more.

It seems very well made. Shown in the working position. For storage the guide is lifted out of the crumb/serving tray (which has holes in the end for carrying) then each side is slid a bit to the end (to "unlock") and flipped underneath the slicing base. It then stores in the tray. The box is only 2.5" high.

So far I'd give it 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Nice review Bruce :thumbsup

I don't understand the question Penny. Do you mean cutting starting at the slide-in divider? If yes, then yes I did. Also my hand is big enough that I can squeeze the loaf between the guides to keep it still as I slice.

i’m actually surprised. I didn’t think I would like bear. It taste really good! Really tender, good flavor, I like bear!
Yay!
And you cooked it to the proper temp right?? I'd hate for you to post
"but now I have trichinosis" ;)

Lasagna and KA Basic sourdough in the oven as I type. I actually managed to time things such that I could cook them at the same time and save electricity. Good thing too because while I knew I had a container of Ricotta in the refrigerator I didn't realize it was only half full and starting to grow mold  so I had to make a quick 13 mile round trip to the store. Plugged the Prime in when I got back, it will take about 2 kWh.

Don’t worry, I’m aware of the danger of trichinosis. I cooked it to the right temp.

It must be Italian night! Lasagna sounds wonderful. We have a pizza in the oven right now!

My supper is going to be the apple dumpling that is in the oven with an apple pie.
Delicious! I just had leftover stew and an egg... I ate too much....

On the subject of baking, I think that I'll go toss something together for dessert. Not sure what yet... but I'll try to remember to take pictures for the thread!
