My first attempt at sour dough onion bagels. They might not look too pretty but I hope they taste good. I was pretty sloppy at rolling them out this morning. In a hurry. have to feed birds today and sort the eggs. I'm taking some of the eggs to sell at a swap meet Saturday because I have sooo many. Sold a lot of eggs at the last swap meet. We sell a lot of eggs at our farm but the girls are laying great and the ones that were on vacation are now laying again. Soon what we call snow birds will be heading back up north and we do have quite a few that buy eggs from us. Soon it will be time to sell some birds to make room for the new hatches and I'm still working on setting up my breeding pens and putting up new wire in between the pens to separate the birds as I put certain males with certain females to get the best possible chicks. I have some of the pens done but still a few more to do. My husband has Parkinson's so it is easier for me to do it myself but it really isn't easy for this old lady. My mind say's I'm still young at heart but my body doesn't agree.
If any of you get a few minutes, check out the Florida state thread (http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/florida-always-sunny-side-up) and be prepared to be amazed at cmom's set up. Huge set up outside of coops/runs and inside a big room full of incubators. Her RIR's are gorgeous. Very impressive stuff!
