That reminds me, most things I cook I do not use a recipe unless it is a cake/bread/dessert.
I have had quite a few recipe books over the years, but my go to is Better Homes and Garden New Cookbook (the checkered one) It is from the early 90s and has been used quite often over the years. My Mom has one that she has used since the early 50s. It is filled with handwritten recipes, newspaper and magazine cut outs, etc, plus all the original content. She told me last year to come get it she didn't need to use it anymore. I happily went to get it, we started looking through it...she decided maybe there were a few more recipes she should try at her 85+ yrs so one day I will get the coveted recipe book, but all in good time.
