I have a 21 week old barred rocked. She layed two eggs in three days and hasn't layed since then and its been about three days now. Shes gone in and outn of the egg box multiple times but hasn't layed. Shes still eating and drinking and doesn't seem to be sick. What should I do? Could her egg be stuck!? Please help these are my first chickens and I dont know if I should be worried or not!

If she just started laying (by her age I'm guessing that's correct) it's not at all unusual for her to lay in spurts like that. If she's eating, drinking and walking normally she's fine. If she's walking like a penguin or sitting looking uncomfortable, you will want to check for a stuck egg. But yeah.. not unusual at all to lay 2 or 3 days in a row, skip 3 or 4 days, lay one day, skip 2 days... etc. Takes a couple of months for them to get into the rhythm of it.

Shes gone in and outta the box a few times with in last hour like she wants to lay but nothing has happened. Would I see an egg if there was one stuck?

You won't see an egg, but you can feel it if you gently insert your finger in the vent. About one inch should be far enough.

You might and you might not. It's typical of them to go into the nest box and hang out but not lay. Mine still do that sometimes and they've been laying since last fall.

So should I not worry yet? Just so long as shes still acting fine? Like eating drinking and what not? She was making some weird noises she almost soundedlike a new born baby! Our red linliberated to lay a day or two after and shes laid one every day the same at the same time lol I just love all my girls and wanna make sure theyre okay and im doing what I need to be

Sounds like she's just fine. And I have a hen I call my "goat-chicken" because she sounds more like a lost baby goat than a chicken! They can make some odd noises. She's also the one "most likely to go sit in the nest box for an hour and NOT lay". Just the way she is. If your hen is eating, drinking, pooping and walking normally, she's most likely just fine.

Thank you guys all for the help! This community is awesome everyone has been so nice and helpful!
