Hello all
I attempted to buy eggs online and hatch, no luck all clear.
I found a local farm that sells fresh eggs. They have roosters as well so I fiqured they must be fertile. $3 for a dozen eggs could be any combination of RIR BR white leghorn buff orph astrolorps and others. 9 of the eggs are white 3 light brown. All but one look good at this point.

Hmm, I would have sent some but first of all, I just now saw your post. LOL 2ndly, I have decided I hate to ship eggs because mine all arrive with the air sacks loose. I think that tends to make for a lower hatch rate and I hate to lose even one chick that might have lived if I bought locally.

It is a good thing you found some locally, because like I said above, when you go get them, the air sacks are much more likely to stay where they belong.

I just bought 6 dozen eggs from a member up north of me. Filled both of my incubators. I am a happy, happy camper. LOL

I hope all your babies hatch, every one of them. Sylvia

My barnyard mix eggs hatched. 8 of the 12. 2 were yolkers 1 blood ring and 1 late quiter.
Anyhow 6 are redish I'm guessing RIR mix or possibly pure. 1 yellow almost white and 1 has a pattern see below I figure the white is a white leghorn? What can pattern chick be?

How fun! I love my mutts! It's always a surprise when they feather out. I never know what they're going to look like. My rooster is an EE/Brahma cross. My hens are some mutts, EEs, a Welsummer, possibly a black australorp, and I don't even know what else. Anyway, have fun watching them grow and trying to figure out what they're going to look like!

Whoa!!!! Yay!!!!! Happy babies, Happy philnj!!!! Congratulations on the hatch!

3 1/2 weeks old the 3 I kept( gave 5 to my brother) all seem to be hens 2 that my brother has have large combs already. Thinking the red is a RIR mix mostly. The brown patterned one no idea and the white a white leghorn mix? Thoughts. Today was first day outside for a bit temps in 70's. Older girls were interested at first but lost interested pretty quick.
Photo not uploading will try again later

I'd say the red is RIR or RIR cross. The white I'd guess to be white leghorn or white leghorn cross. The chipmunk one, I've got no idea. But it looks like it is going to be GORGEOUS.

I'm hoping the multicolored is a pullet. I believe at this point it is as well as the white. The RIR mix could go either way thickest legs biggest comb although not much bigger than other two. Have them outside 24/7 unheated seperated from the big girls but in coop. Let them out together and were chased by the big girls.
