A lot of people have very interesting usernames, and I wanted to ask "what's with that? why is that your username? what's the story?

I'll share my story quickly. I have a hen named Hennible, she was given to me by a friend who was so disgusted by the chicken "shredding" her first hatch of chick that she couldn't keep her, in fact she was going to get her husband to shoot the hen. I enjoyed the character Hannibal Lecter, so it seemed appropriate to name this hen after the famous serial killing cannibal from the silence of the lamb's films. Anyway I try to embrace the fact the chickens are what they are and occasionally they are cannibals so my user name is Hennible.

Please tell me why your user name is what it is, and maybe tell us about your avatar. My current avatar is my son Brighton and one of our buff orpington " babies"
:D

I'm Yorkshire Coop just because I live in Yorkshire the UK. Coop because that's where I feel at home. My avatar is two of my first batch of polish that I hatched my self. They are two pullets one is a frizzle and they are super birds.:love

There is nothing mysterious about my user name. My last name does reflect my Irish heritage. All of my ancestors were Irish. As for my avatar, it is a celebration. My granddaughter (pictured in my avatar) is my co-chicken farmer (she loves our chickens). We celebrated her 7th birthday the same weekend that I reached BYC's Flock Master status, so she and I are toasting in the avatar with bottled Coca Colas.)

I love seeing people from Yorkshire, so am I :D
(I don't live there anymore though, my parents dragged me over to Australia a few years ago and I'm too broke to move out of home, let alone go back to England now :p)

My username was the name of a pixel chicken I had on the online game PoultryLand several years ago (full name was SkyFierlin1182). Fierlin was meant to be a reference to the word 'fire' (it's pronounced firelin) with a weird spelling because I was into that sort of thing. So basically "sky fire". 1182 is Adelaide Approach ATC (air traffic control) frequency. All of my birds on PL had an ATC frequency as part of their name. Aviation was pretty much my only interest back then. It's a weird username but I like it.

My avatar (which is subject to change) is an attempt at a chemical formula for Anfo, the explosive. Fuel oil doesn't have a specific formula though so I just took a 20-carbon alkane. Chemistry and explosives are two of my other greatest interests :D

I like your play on the name Hannibal - it's clever.

My username is because I grew up on an island that's been in my family for 4 generations now, raising mainly horses and sheep, going to public school and getting there by way of canoe (even in winter) and a one mile hike, doing my homework by oil lamp and hauling firewood as we have no electricity or any other means of heat. The island life is in my blood.

My avatar is a photo of my daughter canoeing to the very same island at sunset.

My username comes from my real name, Malibu. My parents' first date was on Malibu Beach, they were engaged there, AND I was born a few miles from Malibu. '99 is a very special year for me, and my profile pic is my service dog wearing my sunglasses. :D

My username came from my great gramma's heritage, Spartan/Greek and I was 22 when I got married to an awesome girl who even let me have chicken (we both grew up in a city -never seen chicken up close) - best day ever!!! We have couple of kids now, and loving every minute of it. My avatar is the unusual stacks of plastic flower pots that is easy to clean and very cheap to make ($4.00/piece on sale). Also a couple of nice old drawers I snatched @d curve that my mother In law was about to throw away when she helped my wife clean up our bedroom 4 weeks ago. My chickens love to lay eggs in the upper 2 pots and the highest drawers. :thumbsup
