Lonely gander :(

We have had 2 white chinese geese for several months. I believe one was male and one female. We forgot to close the coup last night and something killed the female

All day, the male "Gus" has been wandering around crying. I'm hoping to find a new mate in the lincoln county Missouri area. I'm not sure where to look. Does it have to be the same breed of goose? Also, I've read that they mate for life. Will he even accept a new mate? Thanks!!

I'm sorry to hear about your goose

Theres a where am I where are you section on here. You could find your area and ask around there if anyone is looking to rehome a goose. For the time being you could try getting him a mirror. I don't think you necessarily have to have the same breed, but you may want to look into at least a like sized breed. I think there's a pretty good chance he'd accept a new mate considering he's all by his lonesome. Good luck to you and Gus!
