My silkie is sitting on her eggs and I'm concerned whether to remove her from the flock and roo or leave them as they are.
My other concern is the chicks not in a pen that safe for them once they hatch. Eg they can get out as mesh is larger.
What is the done thing?
I am able to put her in a large brooder or separate pen if recommended ???

Personally I always move them and give them their own space ( except when 2 hens decide to brood together and I cant separate them) and I would put more/ smaller wire around the bottom, the chicks can get out and are thus at risk of predators, it also stresses the mum if she cannot get to them / they can get stuck/ lost outside and get cold/taken etc

Yes that's what I'm concerned about( chicks getting out and not being able to get back to mum for protection and warmth)
Would my large brooder be appropriate stiggy. It's approx 1.5 Mtr long so quite large!

As you can see in the picture I went ahead a put her in the brooder as mr roo was annoying her trying to mount her.
Hope this was the right thing to do but as you can see she seems comfortable sitting on her eggs:) just unsure if they need space for excersise ect during this time ??
