There's some really good books out there if you want to read up on some of this stuff. It doesn't provide you with everything you'll encounter, but I found some reading material kinda handy before I took the plunge. I have the Storey's Guide to Chickens and another one I'll have to dig out I can't remember the title. There's lots of choices out there to give you the bases, but like I said before they will not cover absolutely everything.
