New member from Central Cali

Yes hubby did lots of research and decided he really liked the Australorps. We live in a rather hot climate here and he really liked that they lay so well in the heat. Our hens have been laying in 100+ degree weather

Australorps are great for hot places; not surprising since they are commonly raised in the Australian outback which gets very hot. I raised them in CA's northern Sacramento Valley where summer temperatures frequently reached 117-118 F (123 F once), and with shade, good coop ventilation, and plenty of fresh water, they came through like troopers and laid right through the hot summers.
