Breeding for first time i need help please.

Is it necessary that yolk of baby chick completely absorb, and then start feeding them?

Hi :welcome Do you mean the chick has hatched with its yolk sac attached to it? If the chick hasn't absorbed the yolk sac I would leave it in the incubator to see if it will absorb it. They don't usually hatch untill it has been absorbed.

If it has absorbed it and your asking how long before you have to feed and water them? They can survive for upto 3 days after hatching without food water they live off the absorbed yolk untill that time.
Good luck :frow

Yorkshire Coop covered it but I like to make sure food and water is available from day 2 on as they may start to peck then. I spred the chick crumble around on the bottom of the brooder, as well as having a feed dish, for them when they hatch.

My question was that when a healthy chick hatched,,,,,can we provide it food immediately / after an hour. or wait for 24 to 48 hours..?

As soon as the chick is dry and fluffy and it has been moved to brooder it's fine to give it food and water. I would show the chick were the food and water is though. I gently dip their beaks in to the water so they know. And with the food I poke my finger in it encourages them to peck at it.
