I need duck help

I know this is an old thread but I need some help. My female Pekin duck has a watery eye. The other one looks fine but I can see where clear fluid like tears are coming out of her eye. What should I do?

I would rinse a few times daily with mild saline solution or use Vetericyn eye gel. Rinsing would most likely be easier than applying the gel, in my experience.

edit - not just Vetericyn (I don't get any money from them), but something like that - there are eye drops you can get that are appropriate for poultry and waterfowl, some of them have antibiotics, but I like to limit antibiotic use, and saline is comparatively benign, in my opinion.

At this point, the duck may simply have gotten something in the eye - and the watering is the natural way to get it out. But this can lead to foamy eye, an eye infection that if left untreated can get really serious.

Just keep watch and please get back to us in a day or two to let us know how it's going. We like to know how things turned out.
