Parish Council Treating Geese Poorly

I know its just sad. I don't know why they thought that releasing more geese on the village green would lead to a different outcome than the last flock that were killed off. Now they just keep on trying to defend their actions instead of just taking care of the geese or just giving them away to someone look after them properly.

Instead the geese will be picked off one by one.
And doesn't look like new council members have much say in the matter unless they are willing to sit back and watch the rest be picked off one by one to.
I can imagine how terrifying it must have been for the flock to see one of their own killed right in front of them.

What is the purpose of this?? having geese on the green, is it bringing lots of tourists in to spend lots of money? can't be all that interesting for the folks who live there to walk in goose poop while walking on the green and then to see the remains of a dead goose laying there on the green.

I agree! I wonder if there is a world/international SPCA or something like this to which we could appeal?

I really am hopeful to see that more and more folks are getting involved on this.....Mrs. Maynard is a hero who has been taking this on alone until her kind son helped to promote the issue. Bravo to her and her son.

Mrs Maynard truly is a hero to pick up the gauntlet for these geese who have no say so in what happens to them.

New to this thread - has anyone started an online petition? I do not know how effective one may be, but it is an approach many activists are using these days.

And if there already is one - I apologize for missing it.

Another video.

Beyton parish council don't care that another goose has been killed because the flock will breed and keep on supplying geese that can be be hit by cars and eaten by predators.

Sadly the council see these animals as ornaments that can self replicate.

Shameful the way these "council members" are acting and no regard for the lives of these geese. They need to be held accountable.
