So @carikermoon did your son ever get any Dutch Banny's to show or did he pick something else? I was curious. :)

I actually saw some Dutch Bantam hatching eggs on Ebay yesterday that are in Chicago. I was seriously thinking about them because I'm 100% Dutch, (so my parents say..)
 
No, he's been wanting them but the past two years he was full of activities (football, band, and Boy Scouts while taking honor classes). This year he dropped football and told me that he's ready to focus on showing chickens. So we are back to looking for a pair or trio. The Texas State Fair is coming up in October. He will be at his dad's the weekend of the Poultry Show, so I'll go without him, take notes, and try to find a Dutch Bantam breeder there.

So did you get the eggs on Ebay? I think that's a fabulous present--enjoy your birthday!
 
Actually i did not get those eggs. My husband and i talked about It and we are going to try to hatch some local eggs of other breeds we are interested in. I feel like we will get a better hatch results that way. I thought about showing chickens, but realistically im not sure i have the time. I have a full time job and chickens are really just a hobby for us.we also have two kids. :) one in 2nd grade and one who graduates this year...there is also another one but hes in the USNavy right now so not at home.
