My name is Angel and I am a Serama owner, I have 2 cuties currently

(I just got them a few days ago after looking for months), a blonde frizzle male and a lavender hen I bought both from a breeder. (I will post pictures later) I was told the male is registered and has a purple ID band but the female needs to be registered herself.I Also own 3 mutts and a cat who love my tiny chickies to bits. tolerating the males fuzzy feathers in there faces (he likes to sit on them

). I am looking to expand my micro flock to 5 hens and my little fuzzy roo all registered as they will be showed once a year and the rest of the time living a pampered life of tons of love and handling.

Female: She's a doll, so sweet~!
Male: Adorable and very handle able (he's a little unsure of the whole Mating thing and doesn't crow even though he has full spurs??? (his feathers were like that when I got him FYI)

Welcome to BYC, Angel. Glad you decided to join our flock. I've owned dozens of breeds over that past 50 years, but Seramas is one of the breeds that I've never owned. I'll look forward to seeing your pics. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your Seramas.
 
I don't know how well seramas will do free ranging. They certainly can't fight off predators. The breeders I learned about keep them in enclosed/covered runs with attached mini coops (these are for breeding trios). They make a two bite tasty treat for preds. My friend's birds can hop up and down on chairs but, don't really fly.

Sorry for the misunderstanding I do have a predator-proofed permanent run with attached coop for them. They stay in it most of the time but being I have a fenced in yard I do let the pair out to run free in my garden under constant supervision for a few hours. They like to stick close to where I am making it easy to keep and eye on them. They love to scratch up the weeds I pull and toss them around it almost looks like a game of keep-away. They can't have fun much longer sadly as my garden has given it's last this year. But I think they'd rather be all warm and snug in their run/coop in winter where it'll be warm.
