Land lords dog killed 9 of my flock :(

Rosie, this is a heart-breaking story! I'm so sorry for your loss - and glad that you found a place to move to quickly. However, I hope that you get a place soon where you can have chickens again.

Remember, what goes around comes around. You shouldn't retaliate, but God will find a way to even the score with that landlord in more creative ways than we can ever come up with.
 
Chicken wire only keeps chickens in. The main reason for keeping chickens in an enclosure is to keep the bad things out. Heavy wire or chain link is about the only thing dogproof. I buried 2 by. 4fencing 2 feet out all around and staked down with clothes hanger staples and added an electric fence after coming home to 2 loose dogs wearing a path in the dirt around the enclosure. I actually used a 10 x 10 dog run and covered the top for hawks and owls. Neighborhood dogs are the number one problem. Sorry for your loss.
