My older hen is putting herself In tight spaces, and her hind feathers are down? New to this looking forward to great times!

Do you mean she is hiding, or trying to escape something? Is she being bullied by others in your flock or maybe not feeling up to par. Do you have pictures of her doing this? It's far to give advice without knowing a lot more. Welcome to Backyard chickens.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. X2 on drumstick diva. We really need some more information to know what is going on with your hen. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Hopefully your hen is okay.

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

Do you mean her tail is hanging down? Is she being bullied or possibly broody hiding herself in the nest boxes?

I hope she is ok. Give us as much info as you can so we can help your hen.

Welcome to our flock!

She is an older hen, and she seems slow and sick, her tail is hanging on the ground most of the time. Also, so doesn't poop well. Thanks

She is an older hen and she seems slow and sick. She isn't being pecked on either. Also she is not pooping well. Her tail is also down most of the time. Hope that helps me help you.

How long has she been like this? When was she wormed last? Worms can not only suck the life right out of the bird but impact the intestinal tract blocking off waste from leaving her body. Have you checked for egg binding? Egg Binding can kill her quick. She could have either of these situations going on. Both of which can kill her.

X2 on the worms. Also, do you know how old she is?
