what type of chicken is this

New Hampshire Red. Pretty rooster!

Edited: I just looked again, and I don't think he's a New Hampshire anymore. The leg color is wrong. He's probably a Production Red or other mix.

I would think New Hampshire Red, but they are supposed to have yellow legs. He appears to have white legs. He may just be a mix of some sort.

I'm thinking Production Red. I have one very similar to him. Very pretty!

My production Red has mahoganny hackles, and yellow feet. I believe most production Red roosters much like heritage RIR--at least mine does--but the hens are lighter colored, usually. Instead, to me it looks like some of the Red X Buff Orpington hybrids I've been studying (because I'm about to hatch some). However, it could be some other breed that looks similar for all I know.

Example, RIR x BO photos:

[Note the buff hackles, short neck, fat breast, and white feet in the second picture. None of these are RIR traits.]

I was also thinking red x buff Orpington. The explains the orange color with black tail, the more rounded shape, and he white/pink legs.
