I am after some information in regards to staggered hatching i recently got a broody cochin which i put guinea fowl eggs under and at some stage some one has layed a egg also because today a baby chicken was there SO will she sit till the guineas also hatch or abandon them to care for hatched chicken i do not know how long after the guinea eggs were put under her that the lone chicken egg apeared
 
. If you go to "Other Backyard Poultry" forum there will be guinea threads and people there can give you much better advice than I can. I know nothing about guineas.

Chicken hens eggs generally hatch in 21 days give or take a couple. If guineas take much longer, your cochin may give up on them and concentrate on her chick. Do you have an incubator as back up, if she does? Sending good hatching vibes your way

I do have a incubator it is full of guinea eggs though i will make a still air incubator as back up in the morning and will try other thread thanks drumstick
 
I would take the chick from her right away. When she can't find it, she should stay on the eggs, but she will almost certainly abandon the eggs after a day or 2 with the chick in there. Be careful if you try to put the chick back with her after the guineas hatch, chicks are usually bigger than keets and might hurt the keets until they catch up in size.

I would remove the chick, as the mother may leave the nest before the Guinea egg hatches.

x3 on removing the chick. Since guinea eggs take longer than chicken eggs to hatch, your hen may abandon her nest.

X4 Removing the chick will keep the hen incubating the other eggs. If she has only one chick, she will abandon the eggs to raise that chick.
