How old is it? I'm leaning towards cockerel, since that comb seems rather large for the age of chick.

Thanks. Is 4/5wks. Lost track of breeds as purchased did types at same time but was this the one that lays really dark eggs?

It doesn't look like a Marans. I would guess speckled Sussex.
