Can you overfeed chickens?

So I just started my flock. I got them from a local breaded. They are approximately 1yr old. I got 4on sat and 4 on mon. I haven't been around chickens for about 35 years so forgot most everything. I feed them twice daily, about 2 pounds each time, 18% laying ration. Is that adequate or too much? I throw it out in their run.
Adult large fowl chickens eat 1/4 to 1/3 pound each daily, so if no songbirds, Chipmunks or squirrels are enjoying their feed, 8 chickens would consume 2 to 2 2/3rds pounds of feed daily, if that's all they have available.
They may consume less in hot weather.
The higher consumption occurs during cold weather.
My Barred Rocks consume around 0.22 pounds each during spring and autumn, but I give them 2 Tablespoons each of Scratch Grains daily extra as a treat scattered in their pen. I have the regular crumbles in a hanging feeder. GC
