I know you can buy chicken feed, but what about table scraps. My oldest brother has 8 chickens and he fed them cooked chicken to purple cabbage, wich made the chickens poop neon blue colors. so can you feed chickens table scraps? if so what food should i stay away from? What about live earth worms and other types of insects and bugs?

Thank You

Yes, you can feed chickens table scraps. However, table scraps are considered treats and should make up less than 10% of the total diet. Some foods should be avoided. Here is a link with information on what you can feed, and what you shouldn't feed to chickens: Chicken Treat Chart The Best Treats For Backyard Chickens - BackYard Chickens Community

Chickens can eat as many worms and insects as they want. It's a natural food for them. However, many insects act as intermediate hosts of worms that can harm chickens, so be sure that you deworm them regularly if they eat large quantities of insects.

Yes, you can feed table scraps in addition to commercial feed. Don't give them too many treats, though, or it will dilute the nutritional value of their regular feed and cause problems.

To figure out what table scraps you can feed, I would definitely check out the link Wyandottes7 gave you.
