Hi one of my drakes thats about 6months old feathers have been turning a yellowish orange color. Not all the way yellow ,there is still a little white but does anyone know what causes this?

Yes i will try to get one. When i took a pic of him last week you barely could tell he was yellowish in it so hopefully i can snap a pic showing it. None of my other 7 pekins have yellowish feathers so it makes me worried now..

I have read, now who knows if it's true, that sun can turn white feathers yellow. Also have read too much corn can cause it too. But like I said I do not know if this is true or not.

You can tell a lil that he's yellow next to other duck, and i have read about corn and sun can be the culprit but how come my other 7 are all white? I do mix a pinch of corn with feed but recently stopped to see if thats the problem

I would assume IF it's from either of those that it's only effecting that duck bc just like anything else different things effect people/animals in different ways

Oh that could just be his coloration, or he got in some mud and it stained his feathers, or he could have eaten something and his liver released enzymes that made his feathers change colors like how when humans eat a lot of carrots our palms turn orange

Is he molting? White birds always take on a yellowish hue when their new set of feathers come in. If that's the case, he should be fine and will "lighten up" in a few weeks when his shiny feathers are done growing!
