We have been feeding our flock Purina Flock Raiser for years with no issues. For the last year or so we have fed it wet in a mush. Lately, though, it hasn't mixed with water as easily as it used to. It clumps up instead of a nice smooth mix, plus the chickens haven't been eating it. I would give them their usual daily feed, and it would still be almost all there by bedtime. I e-mailed Purina to ask if they changed the formula, but got not reply.
We changed to Rural King's brand, and they ate a little better. It was in pellet form, so I didn't add water.
Today, I bought Nutrena All Flock. It was also in pelleted form, but I decided to try the mush anyway. It mixed just fine with water, and when I put it out for the flock, they loved it! It seems we have a new brand of feed for our chickens.
