First snow today; Chickens going crazy.

Some of our current chickens were here last year with the negative temps, so after the first snow they mainly acted resigned. The newer ones decided snow is,not their favorite thing. One hen kept leaping/flying from perch to perch when outside the coop so she wouldn't have to touch it. Funny!

I opened the door to the run to see if anyone wanted to come out, and they reluctantly strolled out to eat a bit of scratch.
I went into the garage and when I came back out she was standing there, seemingly not knowing what to do next.
We had 4-5" of snow.
I watched for a little while before I went and rescued her. She gladly let me pick her up.
Kinda funny.

They won't leave the coop. One of my hens is crowing. They are legitimately yelling at each other. Pecking each other.. and I think my only layer has gone broody and the smallest girls went in her nest and won't get out. She is freaking out and attacking them. It is very crazy. I worry they might destroy each other before the day is through. I think they "love" winter as much as I do.

A crowing hen is better than a rooster singing the egg song during a hawk attack!

Well there is snow on the ground again and I get to see what good flyer's they are. Wish I had more land so I could see just how far a determined chicken can fly.
